My Client, a leading organisation within the Education Sector is looking to hire a 3rd Line Support Analyst who has experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting applications on an enterprise scale.
This is to work within their Learning Applications Department offering Support and Development to the organisations various Media/Video applications.
Essential Requirements
1.The role holder must have experience of doing technical 3rd line support: excellent troubleshooting and problem management skills and experience of analysing, researching and solving complex IT problems.
2.The role holder must have an understanding of the importance of change and quality control, creating technical documentation and testing and release management.
3.The role holder must have excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively present complex or technical information effectively to a range of audiences.
4.The role holder must have experience of business requirements gathering and analysis, and their translation into technical specification documents.
5.The role holder must have demonstrable experience of providing realistic work estimates and plans, and of juggling competing priorities to allow themselves and their colleagues to meet set deadlines.
6.The role holder must have the ability to work under their own initiative and within a team: working closely with and performing knowledge transfer with colleagues within the immediate team and throughout the Division to develop productive working relationships.
7.The role holder will be required to network and liaise with colleagues in similar roles from different institutions and with software vendors as appropriate.
8.The role holder will be expected to keep up-to-date and learn about new developments and technologies relevant to the role.
Desirable
9.It would be an advantage for the role holder to have knowledge of the SQL language or have an interest in this area and be keen and willing to learn (as applications such as Echo360 and Mediafiler have a MySQL database at the backend).
10.It would be an advantage for the role holder to have experience of using version control and bug tracking software such as Subversion and Trac.
11.It would be an advantage for the role holder to have experience of using performance testing and simulation tools such as JMeter.
12.It would be an advantage for the role holder to have experience of service planning, implementation and management of multi-tier, high profile IT services.
