Solution Architect - J2EE, Web Applications, Web Content Management, SAP, SharePoint, BI, Cold Fusion
£70,000-£75,000 per annum
My client, a leading entertainment/gaming company is actively seeking a Solution Architect to manage solution scope decisions and to support the development of their Enterprise Architecture and IT Roadmap.
The key responsibilities of the role will be as follows:
* Provide leadership in ensuring the best fit to the business needs across business process, support, time and cost dimensions
* Deliver high quality architectural artefacts which clearly outline the solution and any decisions behind it
* Drive the adoption of architecture standards, patterns and policies across the IT department and the wider enterprise
* Contributing to the effectiveness of the architecture practice by development improved ways of working by collaborating with other practices across the organisation to share best practice
* Work with suppliers to build strong and effective partnerships to gain best outcomes for the enterprise
* Mentor/coach less experienced architects/colleagues from outside of architecture to support the improvement of the IT department as a whole
The essential skills/experience required is as follows:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Solution Architect or designer on major programmes of work
* Proven ability to deliver flexible, reliable, supportable and cost effective (packaged and bespoke) IT solutions
* Good experience of IT architecture and underlying frameworks e.g. TOGAF
* Demonstrable knowledge of solution architecture governance through use of enterprise architecture artefacts including principles, policies, views, viewpoints and building blocks
* Demonstrable knowledge of the IT marketplace and trends within end-user organisations including media, marketing and logistics businesses
* Ability to communicate complex IT issues to non-technical audiences and senior stakeholders
* Ability to build rapport and influence
The following IT Landscape experience would be desirable:
* Custom Web Applications and Web Content Management
* J2EE Architectures
* Cold Fusion
* SharePoint
* SAP Implementations (finance and supply chain)
* BI Systems
