Project Support- Desktop Optimiser (1st /2nd line background)

6 Month contract with an established organisation in Milton Keynes

Day Rate: Around £123 p/day

Outline:
The Discovery Team work as part of the wider Desktop Optimisation Project Team who are responsible for implementing a new optimised desktop which encompasses a move to Windows-7 and Office 2010. The Discovery Team are at the forefront of this work and are responsible for gathering all the user information in terms of hardware, software, peripherals, licensing , etc. and then processing this information ready for Applications to be Packaged and ultimately the user being deployed the new desktop.

Key responsibilities:
· Liaise with clients users to gather information on their hardware, software and working practices.
· Complete departmental workbooks gathering all relevant information.· Identify licensing requirements and highlight issues to the Project Manager.
· Process software in order for applications to be packaged - this includes obtaining media from the users.
· Liaise with key business partners in order to progress the Discovery exercise.
· Overseeing User Acceptance Testing within a test environment.
· Work in coordination with the Packaging team to highlight any software defects and rectify accordingly.

Key skills:
· Have previously worked within an IT projects or IT Operations background.
· Experience of previous deployment projects an advantage.
· Good communication skills both written and verbal.
· Highly competent user of Microsoft applications in particular Excel and updating databases.
· An understanding of SCCM would be an advantage.
· A professional, positive and flexible can-do attitude.

Must be able to work as part of a team.
