A highly respected financial services focused organisation based in the West Midlands is seeking a new EMEA CIO. Upon joining the group, the CIO will take full responsibility for all IT related services for the EMEA region of the organisation ensuring that the company`s strategy is supported and enabled through appropriate use of technology. This role will ensure the maintenance and on-going development of the existing infrastructure and systems and provide leadership on future technology strategy. A specific remit focus will be across infrastructure, service delivery, hosting and production systems, operating on a 365/24/7 basis. The CIO will be a figure head with the engagement and relationship development with a number of high profile, blue chip clients, regarding technology issues and proactively provide guidance on risk and promoting IT standards. As an agent of change the EMEA CIO will lead and drive through large scale transformation bringing extensive benefit to both IT and the wider business. A high degree of commercial intellect will be also essential with the ability to manage financials ensuring technology is delivered within budget with an eye on operational efficiency , and also able to spot revenue generating opportunities via the use of effective and innovative IT. To be considered for this opportunity candidates will be of graduate calibre and have significant experience leading and directing technological operations and people within a financial services sector, having operated across a global company and built relationships internationally, particularly with US and European counterparts. The CIO will require a significant level of experience of high availability transactional processing aswell as a solid background in production support, accountable for multiple products and systems infrastructures. The post holder will be extremely security savvy with security and risk mitigation continually high on the agenda with the ability to speak about current and future risks and potential solutions. Therefore a knowledge of credibility regarding industry leading security standards and data protection policies will be expected. Also a proven expertise of managing large scale third party vendors aswell as potentially working with and managing offshore resources will be an essential part of this role. Ultimately you will be a proven leader with the ability to inspire and lead multinational teams. This role will require an innovative approach, be commercially astute, and offer a forward thinking approach to future IT strategy. You will be credible, engaging, honest and have the ability to make and execute decisions quickly. The ability to influence and persuade at all levels aswell as act as an agent of change will be essential. International travel and a high degree of flexibility will be required for this position.
