My client is a highly successful, technology driven, Online business who are changing the way the market works. Due to continued growth they now require a strong PHP Developer to join their fast paced team.
This is a key role within their Development team building advanced Software solutions, with projects cutting across a wide set of solution domains. You will be need suitable commercial experience of developing Software solutions as a PHP Developer, ideally using Yii framework (although other frameworks are fine).
You will have a passion for developing PHP applications within an Agile environment and be able to demonstrate 1st class skills. My client currently use SCRUM but candidates with experience in XP, DSDM or other recognised Agile frameworks is also fine.
Experience of TDD, Unit Testing and Continuous Integration/Delivery is looked for. You will also have the ability to work within a layered SOA architecture working with RESTful services.
Any exposure to Java and/or Grails would be a bonus.
Database experience in PostgreSQL or MySQL would be great.
Knowledge of Online retail markets is highly advantageous and you will be obviously be 'Online savvy' and an experienced web traveller. We are looking for those rare people who think outside the box and who constantly want to do things better, whilst being comfortable working in an environment of PHP, HTML 5/CSS3, Yii Framework, REST/SOA, SQL, PostgreSQL, Jenkins/Hudson, Ruby, Selenium. (Although full training will be given in these areas).
