Senior Developer, C# or Java, sought by my City based major Investment Banking client in a permanent capacity.
I am looking for an experienced developer to join a small team of technologists implementing next generation tools for our global equity-linked trading and sales desk. The new hire will be co-located with sales and trading personnel and will liaise with and be heavily relied upon by the front-office personnel to provide robust technology solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Implement strategic and tactical technology solutions such as trade capture, pricing, risk, electronic trading, and reporting for the equity-linked business.
· Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, prototyping, design, development, testing, deployment, user training, and documentation.
· Application support, enhancements, and troubleshooting assistance of in-house systems and third-party applications.
· Assist with user adoption of technology solutions developed globally by assisting with user training and liaising with relevant development personnel to improve overall user experience.
· Prioritise tasks, escalate issues appropriately and follow through to completion
· Lead and contribute to team processes and goals
Technical Skills
· Solid and proven experience in building C# or Java software for financial services industry
· Experience in C#, VSTO, VBA and Excel
· Experience in Java, J2EE, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, XSL, XSD, SOAP
· Experience in Scripting - Perl, Python, UNIX, Windows
· Experience in RDBMS such as Oracle, Sybase, SQLServer, or MySQL.
· Strong knowledge of Windows platform. UNIX experience is a major plus.
· Exposure to OO concepts, analysis, design and architectural patterns
· Working knowledge of messaging solutions, IPC and multi-threading
