Blue Chip Financial Services Organisation based in the centre of Birmingham looking for an Expert Apache/Tomcat Administrator to join their Web Operations team in the Midlands.
Responsible for the installation of the Bank’s Web Hosting Solution, the successful candidate will be expected to take the lead in infrastructure projects including the deployment of new and replacement Web clusters. Communication is key, as you will work closely with colleagues in UNIX, Networks and Engineering teams.
Essential Technical Skills;
* Expert Apache Administration
* Expert Tomcat Administration
* Very Strong Unix/Linux/Solaris
* Strong understanding of Web Applications
Strong knowledge of databases would be beneficial, as would an understanding of Java application debugging.
Typical Tasks;
* Work on critical projects, e.g. Application migrations to deal with Operating System version or application server upgrades
* Critical incident management - subject matter expert role
* Manage the operational aspects of release and upgrade of the dWeb Platform.
* Problem management - trouble shoot and root cause analysis, known error establishment, and any request for change
* Environment set up and support - code migration and release management activities
* Advanced troubleshooting
* Complex / critical client on-boarding
* Application tuning and troubleshooting
* Support of performance tuning by clients
