A leading academy federation based in South London are looking for a SSRS Developer to join their team to transfer a set of existing reports from an in-house built C++ report system to SQL Reporting Services. The successful developer must have extensive SQL Server Reporting Services experience and SQL 2008 / 2012 (SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS etc.)
Key responsibilities
Lead the development to produce technical design and estimate for a solution
Consult with colleagues or clients to ascertain additional requirements
Understand existing solution based on Schools Administration systems, that have been extracted to xVault which is running on SQL 2008 R2.
Implement the new solution
Documenting the solution to allow easy future maintenance and further development
Evaluate and Analyse incidents, problems and requests during the roll out
Technical Skills
SQL Server Reporting Services
SQL Server 2000 / 2005 / 2008 / 2012 (SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, Stored Procedures etc.)
SQL Server Analysis Services
Visual Studio 2010 & Team Foundation Server
C#.NET 2 / 3.5 / 4
Experience
Demonstrable Software Development experience
Knowledge of database architecture and design
Ability to produce accurate estimates for coding and testing effort required to produce a particular technical solution
Ability to write detailed requirements and technical specification documents
Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines
In-depth knowledge of .Net Framework and related technologies
It is essential that the candidate has in-depth experience of using SQL Server Reporting Services
It is desirable to have experience of Business Intelligence and SSAS
It is desirable to have some experience of Agile development, particularly Scrum
It is desirable to have experience of working within the education system particularly with MIS systems.
It is desirable to have some understanding of C++ as the existing solution is built in C++
