Resource & Supplier Manager - Sunbury
My client, a leading Oil & Gas company based in Sunbury are looking for an experience Resource & Supplier manager to join their team.
The role holder will manage delivery of the resourcing service line, be responsible for managing and developing the demand forecasting and assignment management activities, ensuring optimisation of the internal resource pools. Working with our Managed Service Providers the role holder will actively build virtual capability pools within our supplier base.
Responsibilities include:
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive 6Q forward plan of required demand for resources.
· Undertake resource planning for the resources in the delivery portfolio. Develop and maintain a holistic 6Q forecast detailing resource utilisation and availability.
· Meet with Programme leads to gather data to support the demand and supply forecast accuracy.
· Manage the suppliers running the end to end recruitment process, ensuring delivery performance per the agreed SLAs
· Once resources have been assigned, agree resource forecasts ensuring there is no over/under allocation of the resources; and with a view to establishing ongoing resource availability.
· Optimize the utilization of the resource pool - 100+ resources - across the delivery portfolio
· Support the rollout of the service line across new geographies and skill sets.
· Look for opportunities to continuously develop and improve the service line offering.
· Collate data for and undertake monthly supplier performance reviews
· Develop and support implementation of Projects Resourcing Strategy
· Work with the Projects Resourcing Coordinator to ensure that all on-boarding and induction activities are completed effectively.
· Provide MI in respect of resourcing and forecasting activities
· Maintain an inventory of resources including their capabilities, current deployment and planned future assignments
Deliverables
· A rolling 6Q resource forecast that will be used to plan and manage allocations and drive recruitment activities.
· Management of the resourcing activities through the Managed Service Providers.
· Monthly Supplier Performance Reviews
· An up to date record that includes by individual, capabilities, current skill level, recent deliverable quality, current and future deployment plans for all individuals in Common Solutions, Technical Functions
· Continuous improvement of existing processes
· Management information that supports service line deliverables.
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
· Resource management experience, ideally gained either from working as a Resource/Skills Group Manager or as a Project Manager in an IT environment
· Previous experience developing and implementing resource management processes and strategies
· Relevant resourcing experience involving the use of 3rd parties to deliver high volumes of resources.
· Previous experience managing suppliers, ideally delivering a managed service
· Experience in developing a resource management plan crossing multiple projects
· Experience of working in a global organisation
· Good knowledge and understanding of project management processes, tools and project delivery roles and accountabilities.
· Experience of recruitment of third party resources
· Experienced working with stakeholders at all organisational levels
· Strong business awareness
