Project Manager - Central London
My client, a high profile media company, is looking for a Project Manager to join their team in Central London.
Deliverables:
1. Put in place a complete, sustainable, resourced operating model for the main Systems Accessibility Risk Assessment process
2. Agree and implement any relevant changes to resourcing, working practices or skills needed in the existing Assistive Technology Team, in co-operation with the team and their line management
3. Implement the governance processes required to ensure Systems Accessibility Risk Assessment works effectively over time, working with the Technology Access Group
4. Identify and agree a named System Owner for every software application
5. Deliver three technical solutions:
a. An Applications Database to record and manage system ownership and accessibility data, and data from other teams
b. A Systems Accessibility Search application
c. New Intranet pages about accessibility, integrating the Systems Accessibility Risk Assessment process and workflow/forms
6. Work with the mobile apps development team to provide mobile access to the technical solutions
Responsibilities:
· Leading project activity and managing the production of project deliverables to a high level of quality on a timely basis
· Developing, maintaining and owning a project plan, and monitoring and controlling project performance (progress, issues, risks), ensuring that plans flex according to changing scope, steering group decisions, and business requirements
· Establishing clear success measures for the project phases and appropriately directing activity towards milestones and a clear end-point
· Working with the relevant stakeholders at different levels of the organisation, across different divisions.
· Establishing an effective Governance Model for the project to track progress, control deliverables and manage risks, including chairing a weekly or fortnightly Project Delivery Meeting
· Bringing an innovative, creative and pragmatic approach ensuring that the outcome is reached in the most sensible and economic way
· Applying specific technical, business and industry knowledge to the delivery activities
· Proactively escalating project issues and risks and/or decisions that need to be taken and providing a set of options to resolve or mitigate them
· Being aware of and helping to manage dependencies
· Reinforcing messages that need to be communicated across multiple stakeholders groups
Skills required:
· Hands on experience of managing technology-enabled projects
· Experience of working with enterprise class systems
· Experience of people management and influencing skills
· Proven ability to manage stakeholders at all levels in a changing environment and utilise tools and techniques to drive decision-making and the right business outcome
· Excellent communication and interpersonal (verbal, written, listening) skills
· Ability to plan, monitor and report progress (or work closely with a support person to do this)
· Ability to interpret project concerns and identify issues and risks in a form that can be dealt with by programme management and other governance bodies
