This is a lead projects management role with a strong focus on delivery and client (Compliance, Internal Controls or IT&S) satisfaction.
The Integrated Supply and Trading (IST) IT (IT&S) team deliver and maintain trading and support applications. These applications are developed, tested and run on complex integrated IT environments.
The Compliance and Internal Controls team is responsible for delivering applications to both the Compliance and Internal Controls teams in the business. The team have a policy of buying and then implementing best of breed applications, so the focus of any PM role is this environment is on package solutions rather than in-house developed solutions.
The team have a strategic partnership for AD/AM activities with external vendors.
The role is accountable for key pieces of project activity within this portfolio. This could include but are not limited to:-
* Delivering version upgrades to a number of our key strategic applications whilst working with the delivery manager for these applications to maintain the mandated level of availability
* Contributing to the Compliance application agenda by ensuring that upgrades and other significant work packages are managed through to completion
* Working with other project managers within the portfolio to ensure that they are aware of the delivery activity and work with them to ensure that the application delivery is aligned with the new support organisation
The role reports to the Compliance and Internal Controls Change Delivery Manager within this busy portfolio.
Key accountabilities
* The role is accountable for ensuring that activities within the portfolio are executed in a rigorous yet agile way, delivering value for money to the various business and IT&S stakeholders.
General
* Building and leading project teams, including setting and implementing the teams capability development strategy.
* Setting team members objectives and assessing delivery.
* Building team capability through individual personal development plans and personal mentoring.
* Planning team resource and participating in resolving any priority and resourcing issues across the team.
* Engaging with all delivery managers and clients that are stakeholders in the delivery schedule.
* Be a pro-active member of the Compliance and Internal Controls Leadership Team.
Delivery
* Delivering the updates from vendors to the business as usual support organisation in Risk and Compliance IT&S.
* Delivering any projects according to predefined and agreed budgets and timelines.
Reporting and continuous improvement
* Maintaining an accurate, up-to-date view of all projects, managing dependencies, conflicts, risks, issues and constraints.
Essential experience and job requirements
* Ability to operate in an agile and flexible way in order to get things done.
* Demonstrable problem solving ability.
* Experience of operationally managing complex IT environments in a global financial or similar context (preferably under an ITIL framework.)
* A technical background in design, architecture and/or software and Infrastructure delivery - including demonstrable understanding of several software and system delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile etc.)
* Demonstrated experience of the management of IT teams of 5+ people, including appraisals, performance monitoring and personal development.
* Strong influencing skills and extensive senior stakeholder management experience.
* Evidence of quickly identifying and implementing change and improvements in a systematic way.
* Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
* Demonstrable experience of negotiating and setting priorities across diverse technical and business stakeholders interests.
* Experience of managing outsource and managed service resources.
Other essential skills and knowledge * Strong experience of
Business Objects and Informatica tool sets.
* Strong change delivery experience.
Desirable criteria & qualifications * Large scale application integration and testing management experience.
