SAP Architect - Financial Services
My Client, a leading Oil and Gas organisation is seeking a Solution Architect to have design authority and design accountability for the Global Oil Trade completion and accounting portfolio of production applications and projects. S/he reports to the Chief Oil Architect and is involved in all aspects of delivery and support.
The Architect shapes the application strategy and 5 year delivery roadmap for that portfolio working closely with business reps and IT delivery teams. He or she oversees the architecture and design aspects of the on-going IT investment and maintains the corresponding associated architecture artefacts and knowledge assets. On occasion, will also be expected to perform a technical trouble shooting role as delivery or production technical issues arise.
He or she will also work with peer Architects accountable for other delivery areas and projects in the Oil and Gas SPU acting as a ';town planner’ to identify opportunities and leverage synergies where they exist.
This is a challenging role facing off the delivery teams, as well as to the business community. The role requires an individual who wants to impress with their knowledge and skills, but at the same time is prepared to grow and learn as the architecture takes shape.
* In depth IT experience as an architect.
* Having worked both in a project as well as an operational environment.
* Strong SAP background.
* Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to inspire senior business and technical colleagues with the architecture vision. Ability to present ideas well graphically (functional architecture drawings, process) as well as verbally.
* Strong team player and willingness to share knowledge and best practice.
* Functional skills - proven track record in business analysis & solution design. Familiar with associated methodology.
* Extensive Experience of the trading back office - contract management, settlements and accounts.
* Experience in transaction processing, physical supply and trading.
* Knowledge of Agile/Scrum/XP techniques.
* Experience with Middle and Back office Architecture models and methods.
* Strong technical background.
* Knowledge of integration technologies i.e. TIBCO.
* Proven track record of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
* TOGAF 9 certification; The successful candidate is expected to be TOGAF qualified within the first year of starting the role.
