My client a leading Oil & Gas company based in Pangbourne are looking for a Learning & Development Manager to join their Downstream segment.
Role synopsis
The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for providing Learning support to the businesses.
This role will lead the development and implementation of a capability and learning framework which is in the early phase of development. This will include the development of a competency framework, assessment methods and associated learning curriculum.
On an on-going basis this role is accountable for developing the annual functional learning needs analysis, working with key stakeholders to prioritize and plan course development, and serve as single point accountability for course content.
He/she will ensure that the capability programme and learning offers are effectively communicated and evaluated.
This role requires an experienced learning professional equipped with the right client-facing skills to succeed.
In addition, as a member of the FPT HR team this individual will take on additional tasks and projects when directed.
Key accountabilities
Develop and implement the capability and learning framework for Technology:
· Bring current competency development work to completion and steward the framework on an on-going basis.
· Pilot the framework and incorporate learning into the final product
· Undertake a gap and training-needs analysis and build a comprehensive learning curriculum for technical and technical leadership competencies
Develop or source ';fit for purpose’ training and learning offers.
Once the framework and curriculum have been built, provide required stewardship and maintenance of the programme.
Conduct annual functional Learning Needs Analysis and serve as Single Point of Accountability for new/existing course development throughout the learning lifecycle.
Work effectively with the other L&D Managers, HR managers and key stakeholders to help prioritize and plan the annual FPT Learning Roadmap and content development.
Lead all activities related to the capability programme including sourcing, building and managing the learning portal.
Identify, secure use of required subject matter experts either from the function or externally to help build the right content.
Work with the Technology function and Advisors to secure required instructors.
Work with senior technology leaders / advisors to ensure sign-off of training materials
Partner with communications specialists to create and publicize "success stories” in support of the learning offer.
Measure and monitor effectiveness of capability programme, learning and training offers to support continuous improvement of our learning offer.
Leverage key learning’s / best practices with subsequent implementations.
Essential Education
BS/MS degree is required
Essential experience
Significant experience as a learning professional with specific experience in functional/ technical learning
Desirable criteria & qualifications
Masters degree in learning or organizational development preferred.
Fuels/ Lubricants industry or technology experience a plus
* Apply effective verbal and written communication methods to achieve desired results
* Effectively consult with diverse cultures to produce meaningful plans and outcomes
* Successfully influence senior leaders as well as line managers and coaches
* Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
* Possess strong passion for embedding learning outcomes
* Demonstrated analytical / diagnostic and project management skills
* Apply best practices/key learning’s to subsequent interventions
* Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment and with cross-discipline, cross-cultural teams
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to be adaptive/flexible
