Programme Manager - Infrastructure
£80K - £90K plus bens per annum
Programme Manager is required by our client to deliver strategic and tactical projects within the Hosting Projects department. The role will refresh their outstanding data centres as well as deliver a new storage and back up infrastructure systems.
Accountabilities include:
* The delivery of programmes allocated within the portfolio from initiation to handover to operations.
* Create, select and gain acceptance of the project strategy that is most appropriate to meeting the requirements and delivers optimum value.
* Ensure the business case and benefits realisation plan is translated into an effective project scope, schedule of work and costs.
* Manage the different projects following PMP, ensuring that the project has a sound business case, detailed terms of reference, clear business requirements, effective risk management, quality management, change control, performance management and reporting systems and detailed plans that include milestones and deliverables that will bring the project in on time and under budget.
* Manage the budgets for the various programmes
* Manage risks, resource conflicts and any interdependency between projects and their integration into the organization.
* Manage the business relationship and other key stakeholders, and ensure that the project remains fully aligned to business strategies.
* Manage suppliers including outsourced IT service partners to enable delivery of projects and embedding into operations.
* Accountable for ensuring identifying and mitigating project and programme risks associated with the portfolio
* Ensure that programmes are delivered using "design to operate” guidelines and programme and project management best practices
* Accountable for ensuring that next year investment plan is aligned with key strategic objectives that help in operational stability of our datacentres.
Desired experience includes:
* A sound project management background with suitable accreditation (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2)
* Deep Project Management experience of which strong exposure to leading large data centre programmes
* Core competence in Planning, Cost Estimating, Risk Management, Resource Management & Project Delivery
* Experience working with technical and non-technical teams across a broad range of IT disciplines
* Ability to engage with key stakeholders at senior levels in the business, demonstrating leadership potential
* Experience of supplier and contract management
Desirables include:
* Experience of running data centre/ hosting programmes
* Experience of working in oil & gas sector,
* ITIL accreditation with foundation service management experience.
