Data Centre Engineer, Linux, Windows, Cisco, Juniper, SLADocklands£25 - £28k +Benefits + excellent career progression + Training A leading provider of managed hosted services requires a data centre engineer with solid experience of Cisco routers, Linux and windows servers. This role operates on a 'Dayshift' pattern which operates between the hours of 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be expected to work the following 'shifts' on a regular basis. 8am to 5pm; 9am to 6pm; 11am to 8pmYou will be required to meet and assist the customers and visiting engineers with the installation and support of services, presenting yourself as the professional public face at all datacentre suites. Working as part of a team, you should have the maturity to work under pressure, and have excellent proven problem solving skills. You will be expected to communicate with corporate clients via telephone, email and face-to-face and should therefore possess good verbal and written communication skills.Make regular physical checks of the data centre and facilities.Help customers both internal and external with the installation of equipment and hands on troubleshooting.Installation and deployment of equipment both at the Datacentre and in liaison with customers for remote sitesDocumentation of configuration of services and hardware/software solutions according to the service descriptions including entry of key data into operational support systems to reflect current status and progress of all solutions.Devise sufficient testing processes for customer installations to ensure services delivered match or exceed customer expectations. Provide adequate handover support to operations, providing training where required.Carry out physical checks and audits as required by the business and its customers.Previous Experience installing and troubleshooting Dell and HP Hardware, components and firmware / drivers.The role requires a mix of the below skills:Thorough understanding of and experience with the following networking and hosting areas:Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers.Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco L2 and L3 switches.
