Based out of the Manchester Office, but responsible for supporting and developing the SQL Infrastructure across the Client estate. The candidate must be professional, confident and able to communicate with all areas of the business, ideally from a professional services/legal background you must have strong analytical and problem solving abilities, be client focused and support oriented with an ability to communicate effectively with clients, both internally and externally. It is also essential that the candidate is able to comprehend fully a project's business aspects, keeping up with ethics, regulatory and legal issues.
Main Duties:· Drive a SQL consolidation Project - migration and consildate to SQL 2012
· Support Microsoft SQL Servers and administer, design, build and maintain these systems
· Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the systems.
· Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure fast query responses with minimum downtime
· Performance Tuning and Optimisation using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
· Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
· Responsible for implementation and release of database changes
· Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving
· Assist developers with database development in adherence with SQL best practice
Skills Needed:
The Position requires a minimum of 4 years Technical experience in managing a large multi-site SQL Estate using: · SQL Server 2005/2008 · Database Administration
