Threat Protection Officer - Permanent - Bradford (West Yorkshire)
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading organisation where the Information Risk Management function provides a second line of defence in the areas of information security, privacy and disaster recovery. The Threat Protection Officer will report to the Information Security Manager and be part of a team responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information assets, remaining compliant with all relevant legislation, regulation and internal policies, guidelines and standards.
Purpose of the role: The role will be responsible for designing security strategy, architecture and the appropriate monitoring of the internal and external threat landscape. You will also be responsible for innovation around threat protection, through the research and evaluation of new technologies, methods and controls, implementing changes and improvements where necessary and agreed.
You will use your influencing and communication skills to engage with key business stakeholders in the identification and assessment of threats, and building strong relationships with the IT Service department, Financial Crime and Operational Risk.
If you have the capability to help develop and shape Group Information Risk Management plans and strategies, ensuring that plans and strategies account for emerging threats and take full account of the threat landscape, both internally and externally to the organisation, you might be the ideal candidate for this role.
Skills and Experience Required:
· Excellent knowledge of information risk
· Excellent research skills
· The ability to articulate information risk in a business context
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong influencing and problem solving skills
· Experience designing and creating security technical strategy and architecture
· Qualifications in CISSP, CEH and Security Plus (Desirable)
