My prestigious client is currently looking for a Configuration Manager / Lead to join their team on a permanent basis, based in LeicestershireThe Group has operations in the UK, Germany, Belgium, France and the Middle East. Growth has been achieved through acquisition and organically. With a group turnover of £225 million and a diverse client base from construction to media.Role Outlines; In conjunction with the Software Application Development and Quality Assurance Teams, develop monitor and report the release management process and policies. Responsible for managing the software triage process, placing software bugs and business requirements into predetermined work packages in the Application Development work streams. In collaboration with Project Managers and Application Development, the role will be responsible for creating, configuring and integrity testing software builds and communicating release notes prior to release into the appropriate environment. The Configuration Manager / Lead will act as the liaison with the Change Approval Board ensuring that all releases into the live environments are duly approved prior to release. The Configuration manager / Lead will maintain and communicate accurate records of software releases, clearly identifying each release status, its environment, configuration and constituents.This role has no commercial authorities.Experience· Demonstrable deployment and configuration experience.· Extensive experience of building and deploying applications.· Knowledge of Subversion or similar deployment tools.· Practical experience of working in a UNIX environment, including database administration.· In depth experience of the creation and maintenance of release records.Skills and Abilities· Excellent understanding of software release and deployment best practice and process.· Strong understanding of common software development lifecycles.· Two years' experience in a software build environment.· Working knowledge of Subversion or similar deployment tools.· Proficient in MS Office.· Strong problem-solving, organisational and analytical skillsCircumstancesEssential:· Authorised to work in UK· Be capable and willing to work outside of normal office hours· Be able to travel to other locations if necessary with notice.
