My client is a leading global financial services player who is currently undergoing a huge migration from Avaya TDM to cisco. They require a telephony engineer at heart with experienc eof a number of technologies who also has a CCIE/CCNP Cisco qualification.
Part of a London-based team responsible for the operational monitoring of the EMEA Voice infrastructure.
* Responsible for the handling and/or escalation of voice and network faults or performance issues to the next level
* Responsible for carrying out approved changes to the voice and network infrastructures
* Liaise and coordinate with international counterparts for various project implementations
* Must have a strong working knowledge of standard network and Internet networking technologies
* Coordinate with internal global contacts for projects and global/regional initiatives; participate in conference calls held during local and other time zones
* Maintain the wiring closets, local server rooms and related infrastructure, structured cabling, stabilized power supply and air conditioning in operational conditions
Minimum 3+ years’ experience of Cisco IP telephony infrastructure support and administration
* 8+ years of direct engineering and design experience in TDM/IP telephony working in a global enterprise network preferred.
* Current CCNA Voice preferred. CCNP Voice desired
Implementation, ongoing management, and troubleshooting of Cisco Unified Communications Systems, including CallManager/Unified Communications Manager 4.x through 6.x, Unity Express
* Management and troubleshooting Cisco Analog and Digital voice gateways
and devices, including ISR’s, VG224’s and Cisco IP phones
* Knowledge of various trunk types (analog, PRI, SIP, H323, etc.) required, including interfaces and appropriate troubleshooting techniques
Knowledge of TDM telephony including cable termination, cross-connecting, and basic analogue functionality troubleshooting through VGs.
