Programme Manager - 2 year Fixed Term

This Milton Keynes business is currently seeking to hire an experienced Programme Manager to take the reins of their most important programme of change and deliver it through to completion. Candidates will have experience of managing technology and internal process change and will have previous experience of delivering new business systems. Whilst candidates will need to have an understanding of "agile” they will not be an evangelist and will understand how agile fits into large programmes and projects.
Role Scope:
Planning, structuring, leading and executing a complex set of software development and architecture transformation projects. The programme has a budget of £20m and will involve the development of bespoke applications as well as the implementation of package solutions.
Managing the Programme team consisting of project management, business analysts and software development staff. Ensure the delivery of new products or services from the projects is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan.
Experience Required:
The Programme will be delivered by more than 20 separate initiatives or projects. The role will include scoping each project, planning, controlling and delivering change. The Programme Manager will ensure that the changes are managed using a structured approach and are controlled appropriately to ensure successful delivery.
The Programme Manager will be expected to lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets and undertake work with low initial clarity, some business risk and multiple dependencies. Effective communication is a key requirement.
Other areas of knowledge and experience include:
* Specific senior level experience of managing IT programmes encompassing agile software development, systems architecture and systems integration.
* Fully conversant with modern IT systems & formal project methodologies, practices and approaches
* A strong track record of large successful software developments and package integration / implementation.
* Proven experience of complex decision-making in a complex environment.
* Proven experience of developing and maintaining good and effective relationships with internal and external business partners.
* Proven experience of effectively managing Third Party suppliers.
* Proven experience of managing, motivating and developing team members both collectively and individually and of achieving positive cultural change.
* Demonstrable thought leadership within previous businesses.
* Proven ability to understand business drivers, pressures and value.
* Strong understanding or Business and Enterprise Architecture.
