Infrastructure Engineer wanted to work out of My clients Manchester Office.
Permanent Position with a very competitive salary
Responsible for delivering Infrastructure services nationally, the primary focus is on 3rd line Support and the implementation support of an estate wide monitoring solution.To operate across all my clients offices providing a proactive, technical role for the IT team working with centralised server architectures and operating systems as well as relational database management systems, applications software, data structures, utilities, and communication interfaces.
Main Duties:
1. To provide 3rd Line Support.
2. Develop and manage a Firm wide monitoring solution for both the virtual and physical estate, using applications such as SCOM and other 3rd Party monitoring tools.
3. Analyse and review existing monitoring tools, thresholds and strategies to ensure a continuous improvement methodology is practiced.
4. Working to maintain, develop and improve the central server architecture.
5. To troubleshoot using analytical and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve problems speedily.
6. To install and configure the relevant hardware/sofwtare in relation to the overall structure as required.
7. To constantly identify new and innovative uses for existing or new technologies relevant to the business
A detailed working knowledge of some or all of the following technologies:-
·SCOM or other monitoring technologies ·Virtualised Environments
·Microsoft System Centre ·Windows 2003/2008 Server·Enterprise Level Storage Technologies
·Active Directory ·High availability·Backup methodologies, strategies and solutions
·IT Security (knowledge of BS7799/ISO27001) ·SQL Server
·Exchange Server 2003/2010 ·Disaster recovery
