Portfolio Analyst - Sunbury
My client a leading Oil & Gas company based in Sunbury are looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join their team.
The Portfolio Analyst role will be responsible for analysing the portfolios for the Operating and Technical Functions area with a value of c $50m - $85m - supporting the VP-Operating and Technical Functions, the Heads of IT, and the Programme Managers in each area to ensure the proper acceptance and management of projects into the portfolio. This role reports into the Portfolio Services.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Analysis
· Must have excellent knowledge of Excel, preferably with pivot tables in order to perform data analysis
· Assist the Portfolio Services Manager in the generation of portfolio reports and analysis
· Support the annual planning process and prioritisation of investment portfolio
· Provide ideas, insights and recommendations to help streamline Portfolio processes and tools
Portfolio Assurance
· Help prepare for monthly Leadership review of portfolio status
· Run reports and provide analysis to areas of responsibility
· Work with the PMO community and project managers to ensure Planview data used for Project Performance metrics are up-to-date / updated on a monthly basis
Integrated Activity Planning Management
· Use PlanView data to provide analysis of resource constraints
· Assist in training users in providing input into the IAP fields in PlanView
· Distribute IAP Roadmaps to Single Point of Accountability for each area, as well as the Heads of IT
· Provide training to new users on the IAP process as required
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
· Experience in a multi $m complex Portfolio and/or PMO role
· Excellent Excel skills
· Ability to communicate with different stakeholders
· Understanding of financial categories and forecasting
Desirable
· Experience in PlanView
· Experience in Business Objects
· Exposure to oil and gas company
· Microsoft Project and/or Project Serve
