My client, a well-known retailer, are currently looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Manager on an initial 6 month fixed term contract basis. This role requires an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to establish a testing capability from the ground up as, to date, Quality Assurance/Testing has been approached on a project -by-project ad-hoc basis and has been conducted by a variety of job roles and third parties without a common methodology or approach.
You will be required to: define a right-shored, flexible organisation that is a blend of employed local resource in key strategic roles with offshore 3rd parties for the majority of test design and execution; Govern the execution of end-to-end testing tasks within all software development phases; regression; integration; performance, security; Partnership with Programme Management and Development throughout all phases of the SDLC, drive out initiatives which will improve testing efficiency and effectiveness eg. Automation, Performance and security testing, and also drive forward the agile agenda.
The right candidate for this role will have demonstrable experience of establishing a testing service from scratch, combined with experience in building and leading QA testing teams and working with distributed teams. You will have a proven track record leading the testing of enterprise-scale applications and will be knowledgeable and experienced in the use and application of automated testing tools and frameworks and testing tools/defect management strategy. A recognised QA/Testing certification such as ISTQB or QAI would be advantageous, so too would familiarity with HP Performance and Quality Centre Software.![]()
