A rapidly growing and ambitious group based in Hertfordshire is keen to recruit a Head of Business Systems / Development after a strategic review of the business by the CIO and CEO. Due to the continuing growth of the organisation the CIO is keen to look at long term succession management and (in the short term) to take full responsibility for the business systems programmes from technical resource for projects, through to implementation and review. This role will plan, structure, lead and execute all new business systems programmes with the post holder being required to manage the relationships between IT and key business stakeholders including the CEO, the wider leadership group aswell as the change management team on a day to day basis. This position will be tasked with the management and leadership of the in-house developers, QA & test resource, strategy and architecture functions aswell as a range of third party organisations including an offshore partner. To be considered for this opportunity candidates will be well educated (professionally and academically) and have at least 10 years business systems / development experience gained in a financial services environment using leading methodologies and systems. This role will require a development, QA and business partner background aswell as experience of managing offshore development teams and a broad range of other suppliers. This role will also require the post holder to have ambitions to progress to a CIO / IT Director in time. Ultimately you will be a proven leader with excellent communication skills and a high degree of integrity and professionalism. You will have a proven ability to engage and influence at all levels of the group aswell as ensuring that programmes and projects are completed on time and to budget.
