The Systems Infrastructure team is growing and the company wishes to find outstanding individuals who can contribute to this team. There are a broad range of technologies and systems in use, and the team supports an advanced, high-pressure environment.
The Role
The company is seeking an experienced Windows Infrastructure Engineer to join the Systems group. The group is responsible for the entire company technical infrastructure. The project work covers a broad scope of managing and upgrading the current infrastructure as well as researching and implementing new technologies.
The role will mainly centre on project work covering all aspects of the company’s Microsoft server infrastructure. As with most similar companies there is a third-line and out-of-hours support requirement, which operates on a rota.
The role requires an experienced Windows engineer with extensive experience of the core set of Microsoft Server products including Active Directory and Exchange. Strong scripting skills are also essential. Knowledge and experience of networking, VMWare, SAN management and server and storage hardware would be highly desirable.
The Individual
This role requires a skilled engineer with a strong delivery track record. Financial institution experience in a trading environment is desirable but not essential. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines from a top university is required. The company has high academic hiring standards and requires candidates with a 2:1 degree or better and 3 B’s or equivalent at A-Level.
It is expected that the successful applicant will have at least 3 years experience of working in a systems infrastructure role.
Experience of providing automated solutions using Microsoft technologies is important, as is exposure to Windows 2008 and storage technologies. The successful applicant will be one of the company’s experts on Windows related technologies and will have to demonstrate strong problem solving skills along with the technical experience needed to build high-performance, resilient solutions.
