Project summary and position overview:
Mission: The Eikon Platform is aimed at bringing together multiple delivery infrastructures into a modern core platform capable of supporting the best capabilities from all Financial Business Divisions.
Financial & Risk group is looking at developing a new Performance QA team in New York. Goal of the Platform Performance test team is to deliver a Platform that is meeting quality standards in terms of Stability, Operability and Performance.
We are looking for a Performance Test Engineer with at least 3-4 years’ experience in Software Performance testing. Software Automation Testers with good programming skills will also be considered. Main measurement tool will be HP Load Runner. Main tested systems will be web sites and web services hosted by web servers in complex environments. This role will report into the QA Manager, Eikon Platform Performance Testing group and will be responsible for Server side Performance Testing of Eikon Platform
Essential day to day responsibilities:
Execution and Analysis of Server side Performance tests to verify Business defined targets for multiple test campaigns
Maintain test scripts and libraries
Close Coordination with Platform Server Side Performance team, Environment Management, Tech Ops and App Support teams
Report on Performance Quality status
Develop and Build relationship with Pillar teams and Global Tech Ops teams
Qualifications
Thorough understanding of system under test, ability to properly configure the test script using custom test C library, interpret test results and write a concise test report understandable by management and useful for development
Good understanding of software development life cycle and ability to properly document and follow performance problems
Ability to communicate with Development, Architects and Product Management teams.
Thorough understanding of client - server system architecture and operation.
Good knowledge of networking.
Experience with all types of performance testing (experience with HP Load Runner preferred).
Working knowledge of at least one programming language (C preferred).
Good understanding of xml, html, web services and web sites.
Knowledge of databases and SQL.
Experience in the design of test scenarios, planning and execution of tests, analysis and evaluation of results. Excellent Reporting and Presentation skills.
Excellent self-organization of work, ability to integrate into higher level project plans and to stick to deadlines
Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology
Goal-oriented, able to detect and solve potential problems quickly and identify areas for improvements
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Basic knowledge of financial market
Fluency in both written and spoken English
Knowledge of Thomson Reuters product offerings would be a plus.
Desired skills:
Relevant experience in Software Performance testing Basic knowledge of financial market
Fluency in both written and spoken English
