SQL DBA / SQL Engineer / SQL Developer - SQL Server, T-SQL, SQL 2008, Support, C# Programming,
A Global Consultancy firm based in Central London are looking for a SQL DBA / SQL Developer with 1-2 years’ experience working with SQL Server, T-SQL as well as knowledge of C#. The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst other things, modifying existing databases and applications, implementing additional functionality and analysing the document processing process.
The latter may involve engineering support for the processing of rare file types and other out of the box requests. This encompasses a variety of tasks which are generally achieved by using T-SQL and C# programming. There is a strong focus on database work, with many of the tasks involving the manipulation and presentation of data.
Majority of the time will be spent working using databases using MS SQL T-SQL and other MS SQL tools to solve and create the processes required to meet the client or business requirements.
- Creating quick turnaround and bespoke C# tools to meet client or business requirements
- Ensure that the custom procedures, processes and tools developed are documented to an appropriate level
- Assisting with the migration of data from both internal and external systems
EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
* Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in a computer related subject
* Previous experience in a SQL database development/support environment
* Strong T-SQL developer skills ( stored procedures/functions ) along with some DBA knowledge with MS SQL Server ( 2005 / 2008
* .Net programming knowledge using C#
* Legal industry knowledge or experience would be advantageous
* Motivated to learn and create new and efficient processes and technologies
* Ability to make sound technical decisions in a fast paced environment
* Solid written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment
* Confident at decision making
* Methodical approach and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks at one time
* Detail orientated with a thorough and systematic approach to problem solving
* Ability to work unsupervised using own initiative; demonstrates pro-activity
