Team Lead for Internal Mobile Delivery

My client, a major media business, based in central London are on the lookout for a mobile delivery team lead.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to lead a team to deliver six mobile apps to give mobile access to systems functionality by end July 2013.
The role will oversee the team as well as personally deliver the following deliverables: six apps (HTML5), two native session authentication app (iOS, Android), dev/test environments, and live environments and operating model.
This role will also be a part-time hands-on development resource in the team.

Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for the team’s delivery

Setting up and managing the mobile standards, policies & processes

Designing a standardised platform for dev, test and live

Design the operating model to allow the creation of compelling browser and device specific user interfaces and experiences

Identifying & agreeing project by project deliverables

Managing any external supplier relationships

Analysis of the new requirements and legacy integration

Perform costings & cost benefit analyses

Managing the team

Acting as Subject Matter Expert for iOS and Android development

Working closely with other development SMEs and Lead Developers for other technologies (Java, SharePoint etc.)

Designing a robust framework to support the apps

Skills and Experience
Essential

*Considerable experience and knowledge of mobile development, including significant experience of hands on with both iOS & Android
*Proven track record being part of the successful delivery of projects across the entire app life cycle: concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support
*Experience of working directly with developers and product managers to design the architectures needed to create the tools for a mobile apps dev team
*Experience of working with the front end developers to design the operating model for UIs, with a focus on simple, clean usability
*Significant, demonstrable experience of effective stakeholder management with a variety of stakeholders: both technical and non-technical
*In-depth knowledge of the project life cycle and structured project methodologies
*A flexible approach to working hours and the ability to travel
*Be aware of and include in designs, the latest industry trends in the mobile technologies.
