Head of IT Development - Bespoke Applications - .NET - COTS - System Enhancements - Milton Keynes
A well-established organisation based in Milton Keynes are looking to find an experienced Head of IT Development to deliver large COTS and bespoke application enhancements across a sizable transformation.
This individual will support production services for applications within the assigned portfolio, ensuring minimal impact to services and processes, and utilising IT Service Delivery problem and incident management processes and tools.
You will develop and maintain highly effective and influential relationships with stakeholders across the business, ensuring that IT Development is appropriately engaged and stakeholders are managed effectively during all stages of business and during the transformation.
You will ensure solutions are compliant with architectural standards and that agreed changes are delivered in accordance with current methods and practices.
Experience of managing a team of technical staff comprising of up to 25 individuals will be key, ensuring skills and development needs are planned and implemented in line with immediate and planned future business and IT needs.
The ideal candidate will have a blend of experience including formal systems delivery methods and successful package (COTS) implementations together with experience of On-line testing, asynchronous collaboration tools, workflow and working with Open Source communities.
Experience Required:
* Extensive experience in an application development environment, an in depth understanding and experience of software development phases and life cycle will be key.
* Eperience of varied application portfolio delivery (i.e. bespoke build projects and package integrations) covering the full development life-cycle within multi-skilled project teams.
* A proven ability to think and operate strategically & to innovate and manage change effectively
* Successfully led and managed professional business application development staff, demonstrating continuous improvement behaviour with proven results.
